Boards & Committees

The Village of Yates City is governed by the Village President and the Board of Trustees. The Village Board serves as the governing body of the Village and is responsible for adopting ordinances and resolutions, approving the Village budget, establishing policies, and overseeing the conduct of Village business. To assist in carrying out these responsibilities, the Village utilizes committees that review specific topics, projects, and issues within their assigned areas and make recommendations to the Village Board for consideration and action. 

Meetings of the Board of Trustees are held at 6:00 P.M. on the second Wednesday of each month. Committee Meetings are held at 6:00 P.M. on the first Wednesday of each month. Both Meetings are held at the Yates City Community Center, 102 W. Main Street, Yates City, IL 61572.  Meetings are open to the public. Individuals wishing to address the Board must contact the Village Clerk to be placed on the agenda no later than noon on the Monday prior to the meeting.
